A new year represents a fresh start and new possibilities! While traditional practice has been to set New Year’s resolutions, research shows that most resolutions fade away by the end of January.

Identifying a guiding “word of the year” is a bit more abstract and expansive—providing an inspiring anchor and allowing you to evolve and explore as the year goes on. It’s also a fun practice that helps to start the year off on an intentional note.

So what are you waiting for? Join us for an energizing and introspective 90-minute online workshop! Using journaling prompts and creative exploration, we’ll follow a simple three-step process for choosing a guiding word that feels resonant and encompasses your vision for 2025.

2025 Word Up! Workshops

Throughout January, we offer an array of dates and times to try to accommodate as many people as possible. Here is our list of dates for 2025—choose one that works for your schedule and we can’t wait to see you there!

Sunday, January 12 from 1:30-3 pm ET
Tuesday, January 14 from 9-10:30 pm ET
Wednesday, January 15 from 3-4:30 pm ET
Thursday, January 16 from 6:30-8 pm ET
Friday, January 17 from 11:30 am - 1 pm ET
Each workshop slot must have at least five registrants to move forward. In the case that a workshop doesn't reach minimum enrollment, we will reach out to you to see if you are able to switch to a different date/time; if not, we will issue you a refund. We don't anticipate this happening, but wanted to share just in case!

Special Add-On: In-Person Hand-Lettering & Vision Board Workshop!

Once you’ve identified your word of the year, why not set it in indelible ink by creating a powerful piece of art that reflects it? If you’re in or near Cleveland, Ohio, join us on Sunday, January 19, for an in-person art workshop that will bring your word to life!

Creative Groove founder Jen Jones Donatelli will be teaming up with calligrapher Katie Uher of A Little After Nine to offer a one-of-a-kind workshop and start 2025 on a creative note. During the workshop, Katie and Jen will share calligraphy and vision boarding techniques to help attendees create a meaningful keepsake reflecting their guiding word.

The resulting artwork will feature a hand-lettered rendition of your word of the year, surrounded by a vision board-style collage of related images. (Supplies will be provided; attendees will be responsible for framing their pieces.)

This workshop can be purchased in tandem with the Word Up! workshop or ala carte for those who already know their word of the year.

One-on-One Coaching

Want to make sure you don’t set it and forget it? Pour into your “Word of the Year” intention all year long with dedicated one-on-one coaching from Creative Groove founder and certified coach Jen Jones Donatelli (PCC, CPCC)! This package includes two one-hour coaching sessions to be conducted on Zoom during 2025; the suggested cadence is early 2025 and one mid-year check-in.
